Milan confirm Beckham January arrival

Former England football team captain David Beckham holds his new AC Milan´s jersey as he poses during his official presentation at the San Siro stadium in Milan, 2008. AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani on Monday confirmed that Beckham would again join the club in the January transfer window.

ROME (AFP) - AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani on Monday confirmed that former England captain David Beckham would again join the club in the January transfer window.

Los Angeles Galaxy player Beckham arrived at the Serie A club on a similar deal earlier this year, playing out the second half of the season at the San Siro before returning to the United States.

And Galliani has claimed it is 100 percent sure the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder will be back.

"I've never spoken about buying players in January. I've read several newspapers that have written that but I never said it," Galliani told Sky Sport.

"However, someone will arrive in January, a great boost for our midfield. He's an English player, his first name is David, you can try to guess what his surname is.

"It's practically certain at 100 percent, the only thing missing is the signatures, but the agreement is complete.

"If you're thinking about David Beckham then it's him, anyone else, absolutely not.

"One great player will join, his first name is David, his surname is Beckham. Only he will be joining, I can assure you of that."

During last season's stint at Milan, Beckham played 18 league matches, scoring twice.

AC Milan need Beckham's service? What a joke!... I know better player than Beckham for AC Milan. David Weir. AC Milan should transfer him. He is much more older, experience and handsome than Beckham.

Is general election coming in Italy? If it is so; Berlusconi may use Beckham for his election campaign.....

Avi82, the only problem I see here is that David Weir (Rangers' captain?) towers over Berlusconi. Italians, given their political immaturity, may end up a bit confused and elect Weir as Prime Minister of Italy instead!

I think it's clear that signing Beckham is for financial reasons , they want to cash and it will happen , Milan have own style to recruit players and right now they gave total control for Leonardo because they need him , it's easy for him to get the younger Brazilian talents and devellop them just like Pato . Milan will bounce back and kick down Inter , I am just afraid Leonardo will make it all Bazillians , too bad no one can blame Inter after that .

Milan know what they are doing. And Beckham is still capable of dishing out 40 or 50 metre passes with pinpoint accuracy.

I've said it before and I'm convinced that Milan will do well this season.
